* 3 cars (4, 4, and 4 from 2 carpool locations: (2) Sunnyvale Sports Basement and (1) Milpitas VTA park & ride).
* All were on-time, thank you so much, everyone!
* 5 hikers went to Korean House in Sunnyvale/Santa Clara afterwards

2) Total distance: 20 miles, Total elevation gain: 4,100'
3) Started hiking at 9:50 am, finished at 6:29 pm (up to 7:20 pm); 8 hrs 39 min.
* Total average pace: 2.32mph (8.65 hrs) - 2.11 mph (9.5 hrs)
* Break time: 1:28 (1.5 hr)
* Moving time: 7.15 hrs
* Average pace (when moving): 2.80 mph - 2.5 mph.
Hike started about an hour later than scheduled because of a flat tire to one of the cars. Although an emergency tire was installed, we left the car at bottom of the mountain (~1.5 mile from Saratoga downtown) and devised a shuttle system to take the passengers to the trailhead. A similar shuttle system was used at the end.
C2C (Catcus to cloud) training hike #1: Long Ridge Open Space Preserve to Portola and Pescadero Creek County Park. This hike was 20 miles and 4100' elevation gain. It began with a 2000' drop into Portola Redwoods State park, and then makes two climbs of about 600' and 1000', respectively. Then a final climb of another 2000' to finish the hike. Certainly not an easy hike at all! Some of the trails we (12 people) went on: Hickory Oaks Trail, Ward Trail, Slate Creek Trail (passing through Page Mill Site), Coyote Ridge Trail, Pomponio Trail, Bridge Trail, Old Haul Rd, Ridge Trail, Portola Trail, and Summit Trail.
