March 30, 2009 (Mon) - Edgewood County Park.

It was a perfect day for picnic and a hike at Edgewood County Park and Natural Preserve. After a yummy picnic lunch, we went on a short spring flowers hike. The temperature was just right and not a cloud in the sky. We could see for at least 50 miles to the east (Mt. Diablo, Hamilton, Mission Peak, etc) and Filoli and the Santa Cruz mountains & Crystal Springs reservoir to the west. Although the springs flowers seemed smaller than previous years, there were still plenty of them: poppies, blue dicks, blackberry, blue-eyed-grass, chickweed, indian paintbrush, indian clover, miner's lettuce, hound's tongue, cream cups, dandilions, english daisy, royal larkspur, etc. Look in this site for flowers identification by color.
